Our company was created with the mission to create movies that were entertaining, as well as educational. Our mission has now evolved to include works from other women, giving them a platform to share their voice.

Welcome to Lilac Films!
I started this company in 2001 to produce movies that I had written. I began writing, producing, and shooting movie shorts and eventually moved onto full features. Our first full feature, TORN, won the hearts of many who saw the movie.
Eventually, Lilac Films branched out to write, shoot, and produce corporate, PSA, and music videos. Our mission is to produce and distribute movies for, about, and produced by women.

We offer a variety of services in the entertainment realm. Our rates are competitive and our turn around rate is fast. Our specialty is working with small or emerging businesses or artists.
We provide writing services for clients who are looking for a ghost writer or to complete a full screenplay or manuscript.

We provide video services. We can shoot, edit, and have a completed project in a fast turnaround time at a reasonable rate.
We are producers and directors for your community play through a full feature. Our rates are reasonable.
We offer writing and marketing classes for your book.
Classes are seasonal. We will announce the date and location in January 2012.
Lilac Films produces PSAs and corporate video for businesses and non profits.
This PSA, "Keeping Your Word", is about a grandmother determined to break a negative family cycle and take an interest in her grandson's life by confronting leaders in the community for help.

Lilac Films produces music videos for upcoming and emerging artists. Lilac Films worked with Flavor Fruits to include this song, "Boy Bye," in the full feature, Torn.

Torn is the first full feature film of Lilac Films, which is written, produced, and directed by April Mial.
The story is about the choices people make. Follow the life of Juanita Baxter, as she has to choose between her estranged husband and father of her children and a man who can financially take care of her. The answer may seem obvious, but as the story unfolds, the audience may decide to root for the underdog!
